La Serena, Copiapo and Chuquicamata - Chile May 2004

This 'medium' sized truck made quite an impression on us, but according to the miners, we should have seen the BIG ones!

Our trip to northern Chile started very nicely, with the best busses we've ever had.

Sadly when I finally finished working and had time to go to the beach, everyone else had left.

This scary looking place is an abonded silver mine in Copiapo. We obviously jumped a fence to get there.

I present to you. Chuquicamata the worlds largest open mine. This is where Chile gets all its copper.
